Flowers & sunsets...

What inspires you to do something creative?  I get tons of inspiration from nature, especially flowers and sunsets!  I love to be outside on summer evenings and watch the sun go down. So romantic!

We painted the vintage bicycle bright pink and she looks great with the yellow and purple flowers we planted.

Vintage brooch that came from an estate sale in New York City!  See that gorgeous purple and blue in the iridescent crystals?

 And these flowers inspired this...

...a Twice Loved Vintage cross made with vintage jewelry from a vintage market in Arizona.

And this vintage brooch came from a vintage shop in Bozeman, Montana!                Absolutely. Stunning.

Love, love, love...

I finally got around to putting up all the Christmas decorations today.  I love having the glitter trees out, but now it's time for all the "love" decor.  February is my favorite month {my birthday, my anniversary, Valentine's Day} and it just so happens that I also love pink, roses and chocolate!  How about you?

Here's some new items you can find in our Etsy store...

When I was young, I had a poster hanging on my bedroom wall with this poem on it...

The love in your heart
Wasn't put there to stay,
Love isn't love
Til you give it away.

I hope you find a little something in our Etsy store that speaks to your heart this Valentine season!

Finders Key~pers...

Having little Miss Harper around has brought back tons of childhood memories from when my kids were toddlers.  I will share a little secret with you...my babies all had sugar behind their ears and every so often I would kiss their ears and "get their sugar"!  Silly things we do as mommies!

Well, anyway, today I want to share with you our new collection of vintage necklaces we call "Finders Key~pers".  Remember that game?  As children, it was about claiming something we found to show our ownership, but in the grown-up world it is more of a compliment to tell someone we think they are worth keeping.  What a loving gesture...especially since Valentine's Day is right around the corner.

Here's a few pictures from the studio...

Love that pink!

Key~pers...waiting for a "finder"...

Key~per necklace on old bottle...or on bottle of wine?  Yes, please!

My hubby brought me a key from the hotel in Paris {yes, he's been there...but it was before we were married so it's okay that he didn't take me}.  Gonna make me a key~per necklace with that key!  We specialize in custom orders so if you have a keepsake key, contact us for your personalized key~per.

Guess my hubby thinks I'm a keeper...been around for almost 35 years now!

Oh, so pretty!

There's not too many things I would consider more beautiful, romantic and french than a crystal chandelier.  Oh, and I should add timeless!  Chandeliers never seem to go out of style and most homes have at least one, usually hanging over the dining table.  A recent stay at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs reminded me how much I love chandelier crystals and how they add a little class to just about anything.  Here's some photos I took...

 Magical entrance to the Broadmoor
{Decorated for Christmas}
{I know the photo is blurry but it is the best one I had...still beautiful, huh?}

Hanging over the entrance...

Hanging in the gathering room with views of the Cheyenne Mountains...

Over the marble spiral staircase...

In the dining room...

Notice the "soft-ice-cream-cone" shaped light bulbs!

As I was snapping photos, I happened to notice that there were no two chandeliers that were exactly alike, and I would be hard-pressed to pick my favorite because they were all so beautiful!  "Kinda like our Twice Loved Vintage items," I thought to myself {or I might have said it out-loud as I do that sometimes}.  Because all of our items are handmade or vintage, there really aren't two alike! I love that uniqueness!  Here's a few chandelier crystal items in our Etsy store...

Using vintage items creates a real challenge for designing, but knowing that each item is one-of-a-kind makes it even more special!  Love that!

Petite & sweet...

I've been thinking about Paris, again.  Some day I'm going to go there...my hubby has promised to take me.  But until then, I will satisfy my longing for everything Parisian by adding touches here & there to my home & in the studio.

I have fallen in love with cloches of all sizes, but today I will share our minis.  Cloches {means bell in French} are glass domes that were developed by the French and are sometimes called bell jars.  They were first used to cover small plants in the garden to protect them from frost, but we love them for decorating and showcasing favorite momentos!

Take a look...

Sweet petite cloche with an amethyst crystal inside.

Petite cloche covering wedding photo...my beautiful daughter & business partner!

Cloche by the kitchen sink...can you see my rings inside?

Wouldn't a cloche be the perfect display for an engagement ring?  Fancy restaurant, bottle of wine, gorgeous ring presented in a petite cloche...oh lala!  Kiss me under the Eiffel Tower!

Even a girl who lives in southeast Colorado can dream...can't she?

Right on time...2014

Oh, how time flies!  Are you like me?  I have the best intentions of being organized, productive & efficient, but when I look back it seems like life has gotten the best of me!  So many things I wanted to do, and so many things I needed to do just did not get done.  But is that really what matters?  Is it the "to do" list that I write every morning, and re-write the next morning, carrying over the things that didn't get done?  I guess that depends on what you put on your list.  And what you want to accomplish.

I recently ran across this inspirational message:

"Your journey has molded you for the greater good.  It was exactly what it needed to be. Don't think you've lost time.  It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now.  And now is right on time!" Asha Tyson

I am so excited about all the plans we have for Twice Loved Vintage in 2014!  Thank you for being part of our journey and sharing a little bit of life with us.  Hang onto your eyelashes...2014 is gonna be good!

Let freedom ring...

I love everything about the Fourth of July!  Summertime, BBQ, swimming & a get-together with family and friends!  I love the colors and patriotism that symbolize the 4th.  And, as usual, I will celebrate all month long!

I hosted our gathering this year and, of course, Twice Loved Vintage showed up!  We had 4 little critters on the guest list {9-12 years old} so I wanted to have some games we could play with adults and kids.  We drew names to create random partners and played bean bag toss, ring toss, ladder ball & horseshoes.  After tallying the scores, the winners received beach towels and the right to brag!

Here's the TLV bean bags I whipped up an hour before the party...

...and the plates set up ready to play...

...strawberries filled with white mocha cheesecake...

...and our doggies, Abby & Shelby, enjoying a dip in the pool...

I am so thankful for the freedom we have in this country
& I hope that God will protect our troops that fight for our freedom every day!
